- Is the rate of business electricity subjected to change during the contract? Or will the rates be locked in for the duration of the agreement.

- What is the term (both length and early termination clause) of the agreement? As mentioned above, avoid hefty early termination fees.

- Customer service hours, maintenance turn-around time, and will you be assigned a representative. This is very important, and often ignored. If there’s any issue with your commercial electricity, you’ll need to be to taken care of immediately. Knowing the customer service hours, and whether you have a dedicated representative is crucial.

- If you’re happy with a specific company, make sure you find out that necessary steps required to enroll with that company. If you’re switching from one company to another, make sure you’re coordinating both electricity providers to ensure you will have electricity during business hours.
